Academia, industry, not-for-profits, foundations, private investors and government must work together to move scientific discoveries to practical applications. The 3rd Annual Academic & Industry Intersection Conference seeks to profile successful collaborations as well as examine how to navigate the commercialization process.
This year’s conference will feature keynotes by George Painter, Ph.D., Principal Scientist Emory College, Emory Institute for Drug Discovery and Douglas B. Schumer, Ph.D., General Manager, Global Center for Medical Innovation.
The program will include panelists discussing the challenges and successes of commercializing new technologies.
The program will also feature an announcement of a new state-wide pilot award sponsored by the Georgia Research Alliance.

2012 Georgia BioGENEius Challenge

The BioGENEius Challenge is the most prestigious high school (Grades 9 to 12) science competition in the world for original research in biotechnology. Georgia Bio is hosting a statewide competition to select finalists for the U.S. National BioGENEius Challenge in Boston, MA, June 18 – 21, 2012. The competition will be held at the Georgia Science and Engineering Fair (GSEF), March 29 - March 31, 2012. Registration deadline to compete is March 23, 2012.
