    Five Georgia state technical colleges have formed a partnership to recruit and train workers for the state’s bioscience industry. Supported by Athens, Atlanta, Augusta, Gwinnett, and Valdosta Technical Colleges, the Georgia Bioscience Technology Institute (GBTI) will leverage existing community and industry partnerships to develop a statewide collaborative training network -- sharing curricula, resources and best practices to develop this skilled workforce.
       
  • Georgia Science Teachers Association, Georgia Bio Form First Ever Partnership for Biotech Education

    The Georgia Science Teachers Association (GSTA) and Georgia Bio announce a first-ever partnership to highlight biotechnology education at the 2011 GSTA Annual Conference. The conference, scheduled for February 17-19, 2011, at the Hyatt Regency, Atlanta, will feature a special biotechnology program, keynote speakers, hands-on activities and exhibits targeted to integrating biotechnology into the science classroom.
       
  • Cobb County Student Wins Georgia Bio Science Fair Award

    Georgia Bio congratulates Anne Wang, a junior at George Walton Comprehensive High School in Cobb County. Ms. Wang was awarded the Georgia Bio Science Fair Award at the Georgia Science and Engineering Fair held in Athens, Georgia for her project entitled “ Fluorescent Dyes for Screening Ionophoric Antibiotics”. This award, sponsored by Merial, Ltd., is presented to the project exhibiting the most potential to impact human well being through the use of modern biotechnology techniques.

  • Perdue Announces New Work Ready Regions Grants, Including Two Bioscience Grants
